Kalin M. Nenov,
Thank you for your submission to Urban Fantasy Magazine. I regret to inform you that we are unable to use it at this time. Here is what our editorial assistants had to say about this story:
Vote: Reject
There are some lyrical passages here, but the storyline was at times confusing. The use of dreams and questions to carry a narrative is difficult, and I'm afraid this one didn't work for me as a reader.

Please do not resubmit a rejected story unless we specifically request you do so. We wish you good luck in placing the story elsewhere.

Kalin,
Thanks for allowing us to consider this one, but I'm going to pass.
Overall, it's just not a perfect fit with what we're currently publishing--Shimmer sees a lot of stories about the devil, and they remain a hard sell with me.
Best of luck with this one.

Dear Kalin
Thank you for your interest in Book Smugglers Publishing and for the opportunity to read your story.
We sincerely appreciate your taking the time to submit your story for our consideration. Unfortunately, we have decided not to accept it for publication. We received hundreds of submissions and while we enjoyed many of them, we can only publish a small number of stories this year.
Please excuse this form email. The volume of work received has unfortunately made it impossible for us to respond specifically to your work, much as we’d like to do so!
Thank you again for your submission, and we wish you the best of luck publishing your work elsewhere.
Sincerely,

Dear Kalin,
Thank you for sending us "Aspiring Magician". We appreciate the chance to read it.
Unfortunately, the piece is not for us. Our readers felt the story was missing the developed sense of wonder or fantastic element that we consider the hallmark of Cast of Wonders stories. Our readers thought the humour felt forced in places, and more than one throwaway line came across as a little too offensive for us.
If you are still searching for a podcast or magazine to publish this story, you can find a list of recommend venues on our website under Markets. And say hello for us!
Thank you again for sending us the story. We wish you the best of luck, and please consider submitting again.

Dear Kalin,
Thank you for sending us "How to Outsmart the Devil". We appreciate the chance to read it.
Unfortunately, the piece is not for us. Our readers felt the story was missing the developed sense of wonder or fantastic element that we consider the hallmark of Cast of Wonders stories. The ideas are interesting, but we didn't connect to the characters as strongly as we would have liked. Many of the supernatural elements seemed to be direct analogues of modern day technology/careers, and to some readers it felt as if this story could have been told in a mundane way by simple replacement - we'd have found the worldbuilding more convincingly speculative if the initial twists had gone a little further.
