We regret that your submission, "Asked the Soldier, 'Who Called Me'" does not meet our needs at this time, though it is well written. We encourage you to try us again the next time our Submissons Portal opens, which will be announced on our website.
Thank you for allowing Shimmer to consider "Of the Meeting of Three Shadows and the Shadowless," but I'm going to pass on this one.
Flash fiction remains a super hard sell with me and I just didn't feel this slight piece did enough with itself for Shimmer's liking. I did like the voice here though, and hope you will try us again.

Dear Kalin (and Lyubomir P. Nikolov):
We really liked this one. If you and Mr. Nikolov are open to working with us on some line edits, we'd love to include it in the second issue of Unstuck, which will come out in November of 2012.
If that sounds good, let me know, and I'll send you our notes and questions soon after.
Best wishes, Matt Williamson
Yipee! Day after day after day!
Преводът на „Три истории за град с много вятър" тъкмо излезе в Unstuck #2.
Dear Ms. Dimova and Mr. Nenov, Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to consider 'Uprising'. We're afraid we will have to pass on this one.
While your prose was good, and some of your scene-setting excellent (though there could have been more of it), we found this piece difficult to follow at points. Please, do try us again. We hope you find a good home for this story. Thanks for the read, and good luck with your writing. Sincerely, Waylines Magazine http://www.waylinesmagazine.com/
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to consider "Oh, the Horror." We're afraid we will have to pass on this one.
While we found the story clever, we felt that the voices of the two characters weren't differentiated enough to get the maximum comedic potential out of the situation.
Please do consider us for your future work.
We hope you find a good home for this story. Thanks for the read, and good luck with your writing.
Thank you for submitting "Less than Two" to Strange Horizons, but we've decided not to accept it for publication. I loved its creativity, and the descriptions were beautiful at times, but I honestly had no idea what was going on for about 90% of the story.
Your story, "The Film-thin Bound," won in the 500-1000 word category!
Since you live in another country, how will we repay you? If you have an account with PayPal, that would be the simplest, I would think. Otherwise, we would send you a check, but it will be in US dollars.
Penumbra eMag, personal rejection, re: "Of the Meeting of Three Shadows and the Shadowless"
Dear Kalin,
Thank you for your submission to Penumbra eMag's May, 2014 Superheroes themed issue. This theme has proved to be the most popular yet with authors, overwhelming our slush readers with hundreds of amazing stories. Your story made it to the second round of adjudication, where we unfortunately had to reject it. However, we really enjoyed reading your work and would love to see more submissions from you in the future.
Thanks for submitting "Enchantment," but I'm going to pass on it. It didn't quite work for me, I'm afraid. I really loved it up till page 6 and then it lost me.
Cat Rambo Guest Editor, Women Destroy Fantasy! special issue
I'm sorry to tell you that we won't be using the work you submitted to the tenth issue of upstreet. This issue has not been easy to get into. Out of more than thirteen hundred submitted stories, we will be publishing fewer than ten.
I hope you won't let this deter you from submitting to upstreet again. We will always be glad to read and consider your work. Best of luck with your writing, and thank you for letting us read "Just the Two," which has been on our short list since we received it.
Thanks for submitting "The Dragon and the Orange Juice," but I'm going to pass on it. It's nicely written and I enjoyed reading it, but overall it didn't quite win me over, I'm afraid. Best of luck to you placing this one elsewhere, and thanks again for sending it my way.
Cat Rambo Guest Editor, Women Destroy Fantasy! special issue
Thank you for the chance to consider these stories. I enjoyed reading them, but unfortunately, they did not fit the anthology. While I am letting them go, I wish you the best of luck with them elsewhere. Please do try me again if/when I edit another fiction project.
Shimmer, personal rejection of "Loving Loney Lone":
Dear Kalin and Vladimir,
Thanks for allowing Shimmer to consider this piece, but I'm going to pass on it.
I like the idea here, but overall I felt the story was a little overwritten for what it actually accomplishes. I think it would have worked better with a quicker pace in some places, say around 4k words.
Best of luck with this one--I hope you will try us again. Do note, Shimmer is closed to new submissions until January 12th.
Chrome Baby Xmas Bairn, rejection-acceptance of "Rondo for Death and a Hitman, Wannabe":
Dear Kalin, I really like this one but ultimately felt it wasn't quite this year's Xmas Bairn. I'd love to have it for a regular issue, however. Let me know.
